Atlanta United, Major League Soccer’s 22nd franchise, begin their inaugural season in 2017. The team will have 34 league matches in their first season, all of which will be televised in some form or fashion. The club will appear on national television 15 times during the season, including their first four matches of the season.
The inaugural match against the New York Red Bulls at Bobby Dodd Stadium will be televised on Fox Sports 1, the first of four Atlanta United matches to be televised on the channel.
The following week, Atlanta will look to play spoiler in Minnesota United’s first ever MLS home match on ESPN2. This is the first of six matches on the ESPN english family of networks.
Atlanta will get to enjoy two home openers as Mercedes-Benz Stadium is scheduled to open on July 30th with a match against Orlando City SC. That match will be televised on over-the-air national FOX. It should be a huge occasion for the club. To round out the national TV schedule, the Univision family of networks will televise four matches.
On February 21st, Atlanta United and the FOX Sports Regional Networks announced a multi-year TV deal that will provide coverage of all non-nationally televised matches. All but three matches will be televised live on Fox Sports South or Fox Sports Southeast. The three matches that have scheduling conflicts will be aired live on CW69 and be available online through the FOX Sports Go app. Here’s the full TV schedule (all times Eastern)
