Atlanta United President Darren Eales announced this morning on local sports radio, 92.9 The Game, that over 26,000 fans have now put down a deposit on season tickets. This is 2,000 more than the 24,000 deposits in July, just three months ago and 7,000 more since February.

If Atlanta United were to draw just that 26,000 to each of its home games in 2017, it would rank a higher average than 17 MLS teams only falling short to Seattle Sounders, and expansion franchises, Orlando City SC and New York City FC.
Atlanta United is certainly surpassing expectations of support already. With still over a year and a half to play, by March of 2017, it is entirely possible that the club reach 30,000 season ticket holders, if the majority of the deposits are fulfilled. A figure that would seem mind boggling, when this franchise was first announced.
I think it is safe to say that Atlanta is excited about having a soccer team to call their own.
