Unfortunately the Atlanta Silverbacks came up short of the playoffs in 2015 so they won't be able to claim a trophy for this season. But there is some really good news from an individual perspective. The club's talented midfielder Junior Burgos has been awarded Goal of the Year by the NASL today.
Burgos takes on the award after beating out nine other finalists with his magnificent free kick against in Week 6 vs. the San Antonio Scorpions. Here's a clip of the Beckham-esque curler:

The 27-year-old from El Salvador played in 17 matches for the Silverbacks and accumulated four goals and six assists in the combined seasons. While Jaime Chavez and Pedro Mendes were the team's go-to attacking players, for the matches he played, Burgos was the man behind them as the creative force getting everything started.
