Tormenta FC names first ever head coach

Tormenta FC, the USL Premier Development League team in Statesboro, announced Borja Pérez as their first head coach in team history during a press conference on Wednesday.

Pérez is currently the head technical coach at S.D. Basurto and the head fitness coach at Sestao River Club which plays in Segunda División B - Group 2, the third tier of Spanish soccer according to savannahnow.com.

The team also announced that they will play a friendly match against USL side Charleston Battery once a team is assembled.

The brand new PDL side will begin play in May 2016 and play all of their home matches at the Georgia Southern football stadium. For home matches, Tormenta aims to have one to three thousand fans in attendance but plans to get most of its revenue from merchandise and sponsorships.

Registration is still open for tryouts which will be held January 9th.
