Hi it is Brian. As a big Atlanta United fan I thought it would be cool to share five reasons why it is excited to be a fan of the team this Christmas.
1. Santa brings goodies
Atlanta United gear is readily available for purchase, meaning Santa can bring them to all the good people around the world. One of our editors jumped the gun, but can you blame him? For all you non-religious folk out here, goodies are just one click away online or a short drive to the Mall of Georgia. Let us know in the comments if you got anything cool.
2. Players can be signed soon
It is almost 2016, so in six days Atlanta United can sign players. They probably will not do so until later in the year, but just knowing that it could happen at any moment is enough to make fans excited. Darren and Carlos are hard at work and that work should be paying off very soon.
3. Boxing Day is tomorrow
That means you can go to the Brewhouse Cafe in Atlanta and exchange some old scarfs for an Atlanta United soccer scarf, watch some English football, and pal around with other fans. Getting presents on Christmas then getting a chance to participate in such a noble endeavor for charity and meet new friends a day later is a great combination. Aren't the holidays a blast?
4. Only one season left to be a neutral
This one goes with signing players, but our fans will only have to suffer through one more MLS season without a true blue local rooting interest. We already know Atlanta United is going to have a great offseason, but hopefully the 2016 season goes by quickly in our minds so we can get to 2017 when the real fun begins.
5. Family, friends and this community
The holidays are a time for careful reflection, seeing loved ones, and enjoying what we have going even if it is not much. In addition, there is a large great community online of Atlanta United fans who are there to help you when times are rough and cheer with you when the team is playing. I am grateful for that and hope in the next year it keeps growing. I hope everyone had a good 2015, and if you didn't I hope your 2016 is amazing. Merry Christmas everyone.
