Peachtree City awarded Georgia's second PDL franchise

What a year it's been for brand new soccer franchises in the state of Georgia. The Premier Development League have announced that they've awarded Peachtree City, GA a new PDL franchise. It will be the second such team to form in Georgia in the last six months with Statesboro, GA receiving a franchise in August of 2015.

MOBA Soccer Academy's owner, Volker Harms, will operate and own the new franchise and it will be called Peachtree City MOBA. The PDL's Director of Operations, Todd Eason, hopes that the two new Georgia clubs will form a competitive, on-field rivarly.

"We are delighted to welcome Peachtree City MOBA to the PDL," said PDL Director Todd Eason. "With the club's outstanding ownership group, led by Volker Harms, we believe the league's second new addition in Georgia this offseason will quickly create a rivalry between Peachtree City MOBA and Tormenta FC, and offer high-level soccer to the top players from the club's academy as they move into the college ranks."

The PDL is the nation's highest level for Amateur players. A great development tool to experience a professional environment while still keeping one's college eligibility.
