Atlanta United’s central midfielder Chris McCann has been the most active loanee for the club this fall. At Coventry City in England’s Sky Bet League One, he has been a first choice selection for the Sky Blues. While the club’s performances have been poor, McCann is earning solid reviews.

The Coventry Telegraph posted their “October half-term” report for the Sky Blues’ players who have joined the club on loan. McCann earned a 7/10, according to the Telegraph’s Mantej Mann.

Mann hailed McCann for his “calming influence in the City midfield” along with his passing and ability to read the game. He cited McCann’s positive influence on young teammates in midfield, something that could be useful in Atlanta as well.

If there is a concern, it is that McCann has picked up a few injuries here and there during his time at Coventry. He has missed games due to a groin injury and now might miss some time with a hamstring issue.

McCann’s strong performances with a young team should bode well for his Atlanta United career, as long as he can stay healthy.
