Atlanta United Loan Watch: McCann returns and scores

Good news in England and Charleston

Chris McCann - Coventry City - League One

Port Vale 0, Coventry City 2

Chris McCann finally returned to the Coventry starting lineup after injury and did so in style. The midfielder scored his first goal of the season, an insurance goal in the 2-0 win. You can see his fine left-footed strike right here.

The win lifts Coventry off the bottom of the table and over Oldham on goal differential. However, there’s still a long ways to go for the Sky Blues.

Tito Villalba - Club Tijuana - Liga MX

Club Tijuana 1, Atlas 0

Hector Villalba didn’t make the bench again for Xolos. It doesn’t appear he’s at the forefront of manager Miguel Herrera’s plans. As long as he’s staying fit, that’s all that matters.

Kenwyne Jones - Central FC - TT Pro League

Vancouver Whitecaps 4, Central FC 1 (Wednesday)

The TT Pro League regular season still hasn’t kicked off. Central FC did play in the CONCACAF Champions League at midweek and got handled pretty well in Vancouver. Jones didn’t have much to do in the match and didn’t make a notable impact. It was always going to be a tough ask for the Trinidadian club.

Junior Burgos - Tampa Bay Rowdies - NASL

Tampa Bay Rowdies 1, Miami FC 1

Burgos didn’t make the bench once again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Alex Tambakis, Andrew Carleton, & Jeffrey Otoo - Charleston Battery - USL

FC Cincinnati 1, Charleston Battery 2

The Battery went into a hostile environment in Cincy and pulled off the win in the first round of the USL Playoffs. Alex Tambakis got the start and the win. He made a crucial save on the brink of halftime to keep the score level. Zack Prince’s near post header in the second half was enough for the Battery to advance to the next round.

Andrew Carleton made the bench but did not play, while Jeffrey Otoo didn’t make the matchday squad.
