Yesterday, the news came out that the Expansion Priority Draft will take place as part of an MLS pregame show on YouTube on Sunday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. We have time to get into the particulars of why certain player acquisition methods should be prioritized over others, and we will do that over the next week and a half. But now, things are getting real...
After the priority draft, we will know if Atlanta has the opportunity to sign someone easily from the allocation list if they have the top spot. We will know if they have their eyes on someone in the SuperDraft if they take the top spot there. The speculation will hit another level after this important coin flip.
From there, all indications are that there will be a kit launch in late Novemeber. Then, there will be a flurry of activity as the roster begins to fill out after MLS Cup with the Expansion Draft, MLS Free Agency, the Re-Entry Draft, and the Waiver Draft.
If you have any questions about the process, reach out and let us know. We will do our best to answer them, or get the answers for you.
