Every Atlanta United FC event or news item seems like it holds its own historic merit with the inaugural season inching ever closer with each passing day. There’s also something truly special about seeing our club's uniforms for the very first time.
This was a momentous occasion for the club. It was an opportunity to not only show us what the players will wear, but to spread the message about the Atlanta United brand. The team broadcast the event in real time on Facebook Live and YouTube, so that even those that couldn’t attend could still be a part of the jam-packed event. At peak viewing time, the two viewing options combined for more than 3,000 streamers.
Dirty South Soccer is covering this event from all angles, so in an effort of expediency, let's skip right ahead to the immediate reactions on social media.
First, as you'd expect, there was plenty of love for the kits from much of the Atlanta faithful.

Just as refreshing as the praise from Atlanta supporters were the compliments the kits were receiving from others around the country.
@ATLUTD Really wish the #NERevs would take note. Soccer fans in Boston deserve better. A major market deserves a competitive big time club

.@ATLUTD Stripes? We love stripes! Nice jersey, Atlanta United! See you in 2017! #IMFC #ATLUTD

And, of course, there was some drive-by snark from folks who would certainly identify themselves as internet legends.
@ATLUTD the AC Milan kits look great! I hope somewhere this team finds originality
