Not even Arthur Blank can get Chick-Fil-A to open on Sundays

Dang it.

This is the most important story I’ve ever written.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium officials confirmed to Dirty South Soccer earlier in the day that in accordance with Chick-Fil-A’s corporate policy, the restaurant will not be open on Sunday’s.

At the same time, the MBS representatives did reveal that Kevin Gillespie’s Gamechanger restaurant, which will also be available in the Benz, is working on a “Closed on Sunday” chicken sandwich.

The officials went into a little detail on their thought process when deciding what restaurants to include in MBS.

“We aimed to bring a full roster of Atlanta restaurant legends and rising stars, and Chick-Fil-A is just one of the many stars in our lineup this year for fans to experience at games, concerts and other special events.”

It is a very cool thing that they included not only the well known Atlanta restaurants, but also the up-and-coming spots only known to the city. They are being true to Atlanta.

I guess we shouldn’t have expected anything different regarding the Chick-Fil-A situation. No one is above their Sunday policy, not even a multi-billion dollar spaceship. I mean, stadium.

Hey Gillespie, you should also sell your chicken sandwich for $3. Just a thought.
