Atlanta United’s No. 10 Miguel Almirón has spoke for the first time since joining the club as its second Designated Player.
In a video published on MLSSoccer.com, Almirón took the time to thank Lanus and their supporters for his time there before describing his enthusiasm over joining United and getting noticed by Tata Martino.
“It’s an honor for me that Tata Martino noticed me,” Almirón said in the fully translated video.
The 23-year-old reveals that the transfer has been two months in the making with him committing to the move as soon as Tata approached him.
“About two months ago, Tata mentioned to me that he wanted me on his team. From the beginning I told him yes. When Tata called me, I didn’t doubt in saying that if it was okay by my team, Lanus, my family, and myself then I would head out there.”
With just over two months until the club’s first MLS season, their No. 10 seems excited and ready to get started with his new team.
