Maximiliano Pollachi and Milton Valenzuela appear to be set to join Atlanta United on loan for 2017 from Newell’s Old Boys for the upcoming season. United would have an option to buy the players, with Valenzuela’s price reportedly at $3 million.

Newell’s Old Boys has decided to keep midfielder Joaquin Torres with the club for now rather than loan him to Atlanta.
Pollachi is a 21-year-old center back who was part of the first team squad when Tata Martino managed Newell’s. Valenzuela is an 18-year-old left back who has been in some first team game day squads in 2016.
This is some conflicting information regarding Valenzuela’s transfer price, other outlets have reported it at $2 million.

It is unclear whether these players are seen as potential starters on the backline, or options for depth at this point. Both would have a familiarity with Tata Martino and his lead assistant Jorge Theiler due to their work together at Newell’s.
