Brandon Vazquez called up to USA U-20 MNT

International exposure for Atlanta United’s youth continues.

The good times keep on going for Atlanta United’s youth. U.S. U-20 MNT head coach Tab Ramos has named Brandon Vazquez to the 20-player roster for two international friendlies against Costa Rica.

The international camp, set to take place in San Jose, Costa Rica from December 13th to December 20th, will aid in preparation for the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship hosted by Costa Rica from February 17th to March 5th.

Vazquez, 18, was acquired by Atlanta United last week from Club Tijuana.

“This will be a great opportunity for our players to get acclimated to Costa Rica and get a sense of what they can expect in February,” Ramos said. “The chance to play Costa Rica twice will be a good test for our guys to see where they stand against against the host nation, who is playing at a very high level.”

It sounds like Ramos expects most of the players he called up to be apart of the CONCACAF U-20 Championship team come February. This is Vazquez’s debut call-up from the U-20 team. Let’s hope he impresses Ramos enough to break into the squad.

The team plays Costa Rica on December 17th and 19th at their national training center.
