A report from Metro earlier today stated that Montreal Impact forward Romario Williams is headed to Atlanta United through allocation money.

Lloyd Barker, journalist for the Montreal Gazette, confirmed the rumors on Twitter.

Williams, 22, was on loan to the Charleston Battery last season, Atlanta United’s USL affiliate. If the reports are true, President Darren Eales and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra must have been impressed by what they saw from the forward. He scored 10 goals in 27 appearances with the Battery.

Williams was selected by the Montreal Impact third overall in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft However, the Jamaican international only made two appearances with the senior team and four appearances with the reserve team before being sent on loan to Charleston.

He debuted with the Jamaica senior national team last month in a Caribbean Cup qualifier.

Williams showed flashes of potential while in Charleston. We will see what his future holds in Atlanta if the reports are true.
