What's going on in Georgia?

Georgia United/Concorde Fire

The Development Academy teams for Georgia United and the Concorde Fire matched up on Saturday at Metro North Park. Concorde won two of the three match ups.

Georgia United won, 4-2, at the U-14 level. Brian Alcantar, William Reilly, Remi Smith, and John Torres scored in the win. Michael Johnson and Ryan Shanahan tallied for Concorde. The Concorde Fire U-16s beat Georgia United, 2-0. Cristian Rodriguez and Alec Supinski scored for the Fire. The Concorde U-18s also shut out Georgia United, 4-0. Michael Ille scored a brace with Jimmy Montiel and Juan Rico contributing solo efforts.

All three Georgia United DA teams are in action next weekend against the Carolina Rapids. Concorde Fire resumes Development Academy play in March.

Super Y League

The Super Y League (another youth league, this one is connected to the United Soccer League) announced that seven clubs are joining the 2016 summer competition, including two Georgia clubs. Concorde Fire and Smyrna SC will be playing in the South Atlantic Division.
