Last month we learned that Atlanta United is sending youth players from Georgia to play a small-sided tournament at the Generation adidas Cup in Frisco, Texas. The tournament runs from March 24th through the 26th and the team will play three 7v7 matches. Fellow future expansion team is also participating in the tournament.

Atlanta United has been drawn into Group D along with the powerful FC Dallas Academy, D.C. United, and Chivas Guadalajara (Mexico).

March 24th - FC Dallas vs Atlanta United - 11:10 a.m.

March 24th - Atlanta United vs Chivas - 1:30 p.m.

March 25th - D.C. United vs Atlanta United - 11:45 a.m.

In a previous post, an Atlanta United spokesperson told Dirty South Soccer, "It's an exciting opportunity to be invited by MLS to participate and showcase youth talent from Georgia."

The Generation adidas Cup, formerly known as the SUM U-17 Cup, was founded in 2007 and features MLS Academy teams and international competition.

Best of luck to the boys representing Atlanta United in Texas.
