Welcome to the Chucktown Check-In! This will be a short feature recapping the latest Charleston Battery match. Get the latest news and notes from our man in Charleston, our Battery beat reporter, Seamus Grady.

The Charleston Battery opened their 2016 USL campaign Saturday against newcomers FC Cincinnati in an absolutely thrilling match. Cincinnati came into their USL debut riding high off a very successful preseason that included an 1-0 victory over MLS side NYCFC. Cincinnati have built a surprisingly strong roster for their inaugural season, deep in both MLS and USL experience. Experience would not be enough as Romario Williams snuck a 94th minute goal to steal three points and give the Battery the win.

The Battery next travel to Orlando to take on Orlando City B on Friday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m. That game can be found online on the USL page.
