Five Georgia players traveling to Argentina
Two teams comprised of players from the U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development All-Star teams are currently in Argentina competing against local clubs. The players were selected based on their performance during the 2015 ODP Thanksgiving Interregional. During the trip -- which lasts from March 25th through April 3rd -- the two squads in the 2001 and 2002 age groups will play against Racing Club de Avellaneda, San Lorenzo de Almagro, Club Athletico Los Andes, and Newell's Old Boys.
There are four Georgia players on the 2001 roster:
Jackson Jolley - Alpharetta Ambush - Mansfield
Natnael McDonald - Gwinnett Soccer Association - Lilburn
Liam Butts - Gol SA - Loganville
Thomas Toney - GSA - Suwanee
There is one Georgia player on the 2002 roster:
John Franks - Concorde Fire Central Elite - Atlanta
The 2001s opened the trip with a 2-0 win over Racing Avellaneda. Liam Butts opened the match with an assist. The 2002s tied their first match 1-1.
State Cup Final Four
Georgia Soccer announced that the 2016 Final Four will be held in Statesboro.
