The MLS season is now just two days away. Yesterday the Dirty South Soccer staff shared our preseason picks with you. Today it's your turn. You filled out our questionnaire and this is what the data of the poll results show:
Supporters Shield
The Seattle Sounders lead the pack with 32% of the votes. You think Clint Dempsey, Jordan Morris, and co. will survive the loss of Obafemi Martins and capture the Shield for the second time in three years.
FC Dallas comes in at No. 2 with 16%. Another popular choice, and why wouldn't they be with Mauro Diaz pulling the strings in the midfield?
The Columbus Crew and Portland Timbers share third with 12%.
MLS Cup
Coincidentally you favor the top two Supporters Shield teams for MLS Cup, but in reverse.
FC Dallas leads with 27% of the votes, while the Sounders trail in second with 19%.
The Columbus Crew rounds out the top three with 15%.
MVP
The player awards were a little more abstract because it was a write-in vote. The majority of voters took it seriously, but there were some jokers in our midst.
Sebastian Giovinco is the MVP favorite according to you, the DSS viewership. He garnered 23% of the vote to repeat as league MVP.
Mauro Diaz comes in second with 15% and Kei Kamara rounds out the top three with 12%.
While my Mom and Eden Hazard each garnered one vote. (My Mom is probably in better form than Hazard currently)
Golden Boot
Giovinco is again the favorite to take home the Golden Boot with 27%. Clint Dempsey is second favorite at 12%. My Grandmom and Lionel Messi bring up the rear with a vote a piece.
