Mexico Will Face Paraguay in Tune-Up Match Before Copa America, Per AJC

Tickets for the match go on sale March 15 at 10 a.m.

The AJC is reporting Paraguay will face Mexico inside the Georgia Dome May 28 at 5 p.m. in an exhibition match prior to the Copa America Centenario taking place in June.

In February, the AJC reported Mexico would play a tune-up match inside the Georgia Dome, but the opponent had not yet been finalized. The game will serve as a warm-up match for both teams heading into the tournament.

Mexico traditionally draws very large crowds in the Georgia Dome and will play in a de facto home game for "El Tri."

The combination of USMNT and Mexico games played during the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup last summer drew more than 70,000 supporters. A friendly against Nigeria in 2014 drew more than 68,000 for the Mexican National Team

Both teams will compete in the centennial Copa America tournament held in the United States starting June 3 to commemorate the 100th year the tournament has been in existence.
