Monday, a source with the Battery confirmed that 19-year-old forward José "Yepito" Nazareno arrived in Charleston with his agent Friday, to begin a trial training with the Battery.
There is very little in the way of background info available on Nazareno, other than he is currently listed on the Independiente del Valle (Ecuadorian Serie A) U-23 roster.
Speculation that the young Ecuadorian might be heading to Charleston began circulating social media on Friday after his current club Independiente del Valle Tweeted a message biding Nazareno farewell.

The addition of another forward would certainly be welcomed by the Battery. Forwards Ricky Garbanzo and Romario Williams have shown flashes of promise, but neither could provide a decisive goal in last week's frustrating 0-0 draw against Orlando City B.
