Will America finally Dare to Zlatan?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic to MLS is a rumor many have dreamed about for years. On Thursday, Sky Sport Italia's Alessandro Alciato brought those dreams closer to reality.

Unfortunately for Atlanta United supporters, who have been clamoring for the big Swede to come to the Dirty South, it appears he has the bright stars of Hollywood in his eyes and not a peach-shaped heart.

Alciato reports that Zlatan is expected to leave PSG when his contract runs out this summer and that Los Angeles the next stop in the superstar's illustrious career.

In the next few hours Ibra will announce his farewell to Psg. Most likely target: Los Angeles - via Bing Translate

There are several factors at play here that make us question the legitimacy of this rumor.

First of all, we have to assume that the 'Los Angeles' described in the rumor is the Galaxy since LAFC don't begin play for another 20 months or so. The Galaxy already have three high-priced Designated Players and are scraping and clawing just to find a way under the MLS salary cap as it is. It seems virtually impossible for them to fit another star on their roster somehow.

The other factor is the source itself. During the European transfer window you have to be wary of almost any rumor that pops up and let's just say that Italy isn't a stranger to jumping the gun on reporting far-fetched rumors. There may be some validity to it but we would advise caution.

Keep hope alive, Atlanta United fans. Maybe Darren Eales and Carlos Bocanegra will fly to Paris and stand outside Ibra's house with a boombox. You just never know during the crazy transfer season.
