Super Bowl 53 is coming to Atlanta, Georgia! The NFL announced on Tuesday that it has awarded Atlanta with the Super Bowl to be played in February of 2019.
Atlanta, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Miami all bid for three different Super Bowls. Atlanta was the first one awarded a game, while the other two years will be decided later today at the NFL spring meetings.
Arthur Blank's brand new billion dollar stadium will play host to the Super Bowl less than two years after its scheduled opening in June 2017.
Thankfully for Atlanta United fans, this news won't affect the MLS team in any way as the offseason will be in full swing by then and no conflicts will happen.
