Atlanta Silverbacks
The Silverbacks clinched a playoff spot in the NPSL South Atlantic Conference with their 2-0 win over the Georgia Revolution on June 25 at Silverbacks Park. Pedro Polaz and Joao Mora scored the goals for Atlanta, Bryce Billington had the shutout in goal.

The win also gives the Silverbacks a chance to catch conference leaders Myrtle Beach, who they play tomorrow night in South Carolina.
Final arrangements are being made for international friendlies for the Silverbacks in July, with announcements likely coming soon.

The undefeated Silverbacks Women did not play last week. They are level on points with the Memphis Lobos, but have a game in hand.

Georgia Revolution
The Revolution lost to cross-town rivals Atlanta last Saturday night 2-0 at Silverbacks Park. The loss was the second this season to the Silverbacks, with an aggregate score of 5-0 in the two contests.

Peachtree City MOBA
MOBA had a busy week, going 1-2 in three games at Starr’s Mill High School. The defeated the Tri-Cities Otters last Wednesday night 2-1 on a late goal from Jessey Hein.

On Friday, MOBA dropped a narrow 1-0 decision to the Charlotte Eagles. They could have earned a draw if this had found the back of the net.

The team turned around 24 hours and later and lost another close one, 2-1 to the Southern West Virginia King’s Warriors. A 90th minute goal from MOBA’s Taku Mashingaidze made for a drama-filled finish.

South Georgia Tormenta
Tormenta is on a roll, winning four straight games and not allowing a goal in any of them. Goalkeepers Anton Widen and Alex Guerra have been named to back-to-back PDL Team of the Week selections.

Last Thursday saw Tormenta defeat the Southern West Virginia King’s Warriors 1-0 on a second half goal from Jeremy Rector, assisted by Trenton Whitely. Guerra made five saves in the shutout.
The West Virginia Chaos visited Statesboro on Saturday and Tormenta ran out with a 3-0 comprehensive win. Guerra made five more saves in another shutout. Sam Lofts opened the scoring in the 18th minute on a Reed Norton assist. Nico Rittmeyer scored the second goal in the 50th minute, assisted by Jeff Medina. Eli Dent scored on a Rector assist to close it out.
