5 Georgia-based soccer stories you may have missed recently

Look at Georgia soccer doing big things!

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Houston Dynamo Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

1- Georgia-based goalkeepers Brendan Moore and Cody Cropper have both left their clubs.

The two goalkeepers from League One sides Fleetwood Town and recently relegated Milton Keynes Dons are now without a club and will be looking for a new team this summer. Atlanta United already have Tambakis but they will need more than one goalkeeper. Both of these young keepers would be intriguing options for Atlanta.

2- Ricardo Clark amazing goal

Houston Dynamo midfielder scored a worldie of a goal against rivals FC Dallas a few weeks ago. Don't blink while you watch this one!

3 - Walker Zimmerman rumor

Speaking of FC Dallas, one of their best defenders, Walker Zimmerman, is rumored to be drawing interest from Mexican club. Atlas. Tom Marshall of ESPN reported this and is well respected on all things Mexican soccer. Also, he is saying he is hearing it from a different source so I wouldn't be surprised if it were true.

This news saddens me a bit. I've been wanting Zimmerman to come to Atlanta United for a while now. He would be one of our starting center defenders and he wouldn't cost a fortune. I obviously want the best for him, but I still hope Zimmerman comes to Atlanta.

Joe Bendik save of the week

Two weeks ago, Joe Bendik was awarded with the Save of the Week after making a couple saves to keep out Montreal Impact and preserve the win. After moving to Orlando, Bendik has really shined in his new starting role but is hiding how poor Orlando's back four have been.

Kwadwo Poku features in documentary

Kwadwo Poku featured alongside Lloyd Sam in a documentary in which they traveled back to Ghana together and went to the town where they grew up. It is a beautiful watch and I highly recommend.
