San Lorenzo confirm Hector Villalba is leaving

Rumors continue to swirl around Hector Villalba's impending transfer to Atlanta United. All signs point to the move being a signature away from happening and that the pen will meet paper as soon as Monday.

Admittedly, reports and whispers from Argentina have drove this transfer saga to the finish line as us Americans have remained in the dark with United having a strict policy against commenting on players under contract.

San Lorenzo haven't been shy about letting their feelings be known, however. They have let the cat out of the bag, so to speak on Sunday.

"There is no possibility that he's staying," the club told Vamos Ciclon.

This all but confirms that the move is happening and that it's just a matter of when it will become official. There were rumors earlier about the possibility of Atlanta signing Villalba and the loaning him back to San Lorenzo. However, recently it's been reported that the plan is for him to join Liga MX side Club Tijuana on loan until December. San Lorenzo seem to have confirmed that as well with the quote.

San Lorenzo are currently in training camp in Costa Rica and have a friendly tonight against Saprissa. There's a possibility that Villalba plays and that this will be his farewell match.

As with all transfer sagas, anything can happen before the official announcement comes. But this one appears to be completely legit and about to be confirmed.
