As part of their new partnership with American Family Insurance, Atlanta United will be conducting Dream Tryouts across four cities in Southeast this year. The tryouts will be for a spot on the Major League Soccer roster.
The American Family Insurance Dream Tryouts will begin on July 23-24 in Charlotte, NC at the Ortho Carolina Sports Park. It will then travel to Birmingham, Nashville, and Atlanta. The tryouts will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for Charlotte is open now.
Darren Eales told Dirty South Soccer:
“The American Family Insurance Dream Tryout Tour perfectly aligns with American Family’s philosophy to dream fearlessly. The tryout tour will give aspiring soccer players the chance to potentially make the Atlanta United first team, affording them the opportunity to pursue a lifelong dream. We’re excited to kick off the tour on July 23 in Charlotte.”
Major League Soccer has conducted a national series of open tryouts called Sueño MLS since 2007, as part of a partnership with Univision. Over 15,000 young players have participated in the series and the program has had success stories. 2015 MLS Cup champion Jorge Villafaña was discovered on the show and is now playing in LigaMX with Santos Laguna. Monterrey forward Gabriel Funes Mori and Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori were also first noticed through the series.
