The Daily Dirt, July 17: I Love a Rainy Night

This was the scene at Silverbacks Park last night for the Charleston Battery vs. Nigeria U23 match...

A combination of a lot of rain in a short period of time plus poor drainage resulted in a field that was unplayable. Just before kickoff time, the game was postponed until 10:00am this morning.

Things look better now:

Unfortunately, the game will not be streamed this morning. It is also unknown what will be done to remedy fans who bought tickets for last night’s game, but are now unable to attend the rescheduled match. Promoters United Soccer Africa told us that they are “doing our best to see how we can best accommodate the fans that cannot make the rescheduled match.”
