Notes on Kreis, Carleton, Otoo, and Villalba

MLS: New York City FC at Toronto FC John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

Is Jason Kreis the most coveted coach in MLS history?

After the news broke about Orlando discussing their vacancy with him, fans across the country are waiting to see where he ends up. There are large segments of the fanbase in Atlanta and Seattle who are hoping their clubs are still in the mix. Orlando City beat writer Alicia DelGallo of the Orlando Sentinel confirmed that Kreis is one of the names on the Lions’ shortlist.

Orlando president Phil Rawlins hinted at other “big names” on the list as well.

The Lions are trying to get someone in the role for the long haul quickly so they can try to salvage this transfer window and reinforce their roster.

On the Atlanta front, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Doug Roberson has filed two great interviews with young Atlanta United talents Andrew Carleton and Jeffrey Otoo. Both players are with the Charleston Battery in the USL and their coach Mike Anhaeuser spoke highly of their talent. Specifically noted were Carleton’s vision and passing in the final third and Otoo’s powerful shot from distance.
