Tuesday afternoon, while you were probably sitting in traffic on I-85, Taylor Twellman tweeted a not-so-subtle suggestion of who Atlanta United’s first manager may be.
That’s right. Matt Ryan, the Atlanta Falcons star quarterback. Taylor Twellman is often known for first reporting on MLS news. Last week, Twellmann correctly tweeted that Villalba would sign within the next 24 hours before the club officially announced. He’s one of the most reputable sources for MLS and US Soccer news and I’ve never known him to be incorrect.
Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves though. This could be anything from a joke to him connecting the dots between the managerless-Atlanta United and the jobless-Roberto Martinez.
Additionally, Roberto Martinez, the former Everton Manager, has been heavily linked to take over Hull City in the English Premier League after Steve Bruce resigned last Friday.
This is nowhere near confirmation and quite frankly we have no idea what this Tweet could really mean. All I’ll say is, get ready.
