Villalba headed to Tijuana for Liga MX Apertura

@ToqueAlToque

Last night, Tijuana announced that Hector Villalba would be joining them for the 2016 Liga MX Apertura season this fall.

It is unclear if Villalba will be eligible to join the team for tonight’s match with Chivas. As soon as we can get clarification, we will let the DSS Nation know.

In a media Q&A yesterday in Tijuana, Xolos manager Miguel Herrera said that Villalba’s arrival give them another option on the right side. That is where Villalba played the most in San Lorenzo, although he can be used up top as a forward as well. Carlos Bocanegra highlighted Villalba’s versatility in last week’s press conference, but we will have to wait and see where he fits into a Xolos side that is two games into their season.

With the transfer window winding down, expect the activity to get interesting around MLS over the next week. Stay tuned for more updates from all of us here at Dirty South Soccer.
