Busy day yesterday in the Dirty South, huh?
We’re sure you’ve seen by now that Atlanta United has made its highest profile signing yet, inking former Wigan and Burnley midfielder Chris McCann to a deal. In case you missed it, here’s some comments from Paul Kendrick of the Wigan Evening Post about what Atlanta can expect from McCann.
Last night, Orlando and manager Adrian Heath parted ways. Based on the Lions’ start to the season, it is not a huge surprise. However, the timing of it caught most people off guard. Two issues we tackled in this reaction piece are if Heath will be a candidate in Atlanta and if Orlando suddenly being in the manager market will affect Atlanta’s chances of hiring their first choice.
Four Atlanta United youngsters made their debuts with the Charleston Battery last night in the club’s friendly with Rangers. The Mouths of the South crew was in attendance and updated us on their progress.
