The Daily Dirt, August 1: Window Shopper

Will Atlanta United’s loans become official today?

@ATLUTD

With the MLS transfer window closing on Wednesday, expect more deals over the next few days around the league. The biggest saga of this transfer window has to be with Fabian Castillo and Dallas. On yesterday’s ESPN broadcast, Taylor Twellman said the proposed move to Trabzonspor was “dead.” The club expects Castillo to return to Dallas this week for training. Remember, the MLS transfer window does not impact moves out of the league. Turkish clubs can add players through the end of August, so this might drag on even longer.

As has been reported in articles about Chris McCann and Kenwyne Jones’ loan destinations, it is expected that their Atlanta United contracts officially start today so their loans can become official. We will let you know once the announcement is made. It is unclear if Hector Villalba’s proposed loan to Xolos is in this category.

Stay tuned to Dirty South Soccer for news at it breaks this week.
