Atlanta United Loan Watch: All eyes on youth

Chris McCann - Coventry City - League One

Coventry City 1, Northampton Town 1

McCann started and played 90 minutes in this one. He received a yellow card in the 81st minute for what was described as a “bad foul.” Coventry have gotten off to a rotten start this season, accumulating just three points in their first five matches. That leaves them sitting in 22nd place in the League One table.

Tito Villalba - Club Tijuana - Liga MX

Club Tijuana 1, Pumas UNAM 0

Hector Villabla was an unused sub in Xolos’ home victory. It’s the third straight league match without an appearance for Tito. However, Xolos are still top of the table and are riding a impressive run of form. Hopefully once that tails off, Villalba will see more time.

Kenwyne Jones - Central FC - TT Pro League

The TT Pro League is inactive currently. Jones received a call-up to the Trinidad and Tobago national team this week. They will play Guatemala on Friday and the USA next Tuesday. They currently lead Group C in the fourth round of World Cup qualifying. If they can beat Guatemala, they’ll book their place into the Hex.

Junior Burgos - Tampa Bay Rowdies - NASL

Tampa Bay Rowdies 2, Rayo OKC 0

Burgos was an unused substitute in the Rowdies win. He’s seen his minutes drop severely since the club acquired Joe Cole.

Alex Tambakis & Jeffrey Otoo - Charleston Battery - USL

Charleston Battery 1, Charlotte Independence 0

Tambakis started and kept a clean sheet with Odisnel Cooper unavailable. He made three saves in total during his 90 minutes. Meanwhile, Jeffrey Otoo didn’t make the bench.

Andrew Carleton & Chris Goslin - Battery/USYNT

The Atlanta United youth internationals were in Mexico this past week with the U.S. U-17 team competing in the Torneo de Naciones. Here’s a complete rundown of how they did.
