Put your USA jerseys on, wrap those American flag bandannas around your head and get ready to support the ladies. The United States women's national team is coming to Atlanta!
The Atlanta Journal Constitution's, Doug Roberson, reported today that the USWNT will face the Netherlands on Sunday, September 18, in what should be the last soccer game played inside the Georgia Dome. Pre-sale for tickets go on sale tomorrow, August 4, at 10 a.m.
The USWNT has two Georgia natives playing for the Olympic team hoping to win gold - Morgan Brian from St. Simon's Island and Kelly O'Hara from Fayetteville. The post-Olympic friendlies could become a victory tour should the team have a successful tournament.
This is the second time the women's national team will host a match in Atlanta, the last being an 8-0 win against Russia in 2014. The USWNT is 8-0-0 in all games played within the state of Georgia.
