It’s been quite a while since the US Women’s National Team hosted a match in Atlanta, and they’re planning on doing it big.
U.S. Soccer announced today the USWNT will hold a public training session inside the Georgia Dome Saturday, September 17, prior to their match against the Netherlands on the 18th. The session is free to the public, although you’ll have to pay for parking at the Georgia Dome. Of course, MARTA and Uber are great alternatives to $10 parking.
In Columbus or Atlanta in Sept? #USWNT to hold public trainings ahead of friendlies.

If you’ve never been to an open training session, chances are you’ll see the full squad run basic warm-up drills, small sided games and, possibly, some more tactical exercises. It’s a great chance to see the women off the screen and outside the typical match-day environment in which most are accustomed to seeing them.
The weekend itself is a great opportunity to show the nation and U.S. Soccer that Atlanta loves their national teams. The large crowd anticipated for the USWNT match Sunday, September 18, accompanied by a great showing at the public training session could entice U.S. Soccer to play more matches in Atlanta.
