Concorde Fire midfielder Benjamin Agnew commits to Providence

Big East Bound

Benjamin Agnew, attacking midfielder for Concorde Fire’s U18 US Soccer Development Academy squad, recently made a verbal commitment to Providence College. He is starting his senior year in high school and would potentially join the Friars next fall.

Agnew told Dirty South Soccer:

“Providence was my first choice given the commitment to their soccer program (new stadium, coaching staff, training facilities), recent on field success (2014 Big East Championship and Final Four appearance), focus on academic excellence, and their smaller Catholic urban campus. I’m looking forward to a strong final DA season to get ready for Providence in the fall of 2017.”

Captaining the Concorde Fire DA squads at U14 and U16, Agnew has been a leading player for the club in recent years. He has also been part of the Georgia Soccer Olympic Development Program prior to joining the US Soccer DA.

The Alpharetta native played in 35 games for the Concorde Fire U16 US Soccer DA squad last season, scoring five goals.
