After a long international break, Liga MX returns to action this weekend. Atlanta United DP Hector Villalba continues his quest for playing time at Club Tijuana as the league leaders travel to Monterrey for a match.

As their place in the table suggests, Xolos have begun the current season on fire under new manager Miguel Herrera. That has made it rather difficult for Villalba to find meaningful playing time so far. Hopefully that’ll turn around soon as he continues to get integrated into the squad.

Seven matches into the season and Xolos have only lost once and drawn once. They’ve opened up a three point lead on second-place in the table.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s opponents Monterrey sit right in the middle of the standings in 10th place. So, it should be a stern test for Villalba and his loan team.

The match will be on TV and as always, we’ll be in the comments to follow along or if you just want to talk about the day of soccer.
