Atlanta United’s academy is headed out yesterday for their first road trip.

Today, they will face the Carolina Rapids in U13, U14, U16, and U18 action. The U14’s and U18’s will play at 2:00 p.m. and the U13’s and U16’s will play at 4:15 p.m. Carolina is affiliated with the Colorado Rapids through the adidas Alliance, they share a curriculum and other resources that benefit the young players in North Carolina. Jared Watts, now with Colorado, came through the program and was drafted by the Rapids out of Wake Forest.
Tomorrow, United’s teams face the Charlotte Soccer Academy at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. before returning to Atlanta.
Hector Villalba will be in action tonight for Xolos as they face Pumas at 8:00 p.m. on Univision Deportes.
