Atlanta United fans don’t know much about their only Designated Player, Hector Villalba, so far. All we have to go on is highlight reels on YouTube and a handful of substitute appearances for Club Tijuana. However, there’s one thing that is apparent about his game: He’s freaking fast.
EA Sports confirmed as much on Friday when they announced the 10 fastest players in their upcoming game FIFA 17. Atlanta’s speedster made the list at No. 8, having the same pace rating as the one and only Gareth Bale.
While Atlanta United won’t be in FIFA 17 at launch, history tells us they’ll likely be added in as an update around February or March like Orlando City and NYCFC was in 2015.
Villalba is the first Atlanta United player to have their FIFA 17 rating revealed. At 74, he’s got a very respectable rating for an MLS player. He should be a blast to play with in the game.
Unfortunately, the only other Atlanta player who will be in the game at launch is Chris McCann.
