If reports out of Argentina are to be believed, Gerardo “Tata” Martino will be the first manager in Atlanta United history. DiarioOle, a well-respected sports outlet, is reporting that Martino is in Atlanta right now negotiating a deal with the club brass.
Several outlets confirm that Atlanta United contacted the 53-year-old former Barcelona manager around two weeks ago and that the negotiations are at an advanced stage, needing only official confirmation at this point.

Dirty South Soccer reached out to the club for a comment on the issue on Thursday when reports first surfaced, but were told that they were still interviewing candidates.
It appears as if this is close to happening, but things can always change on a dime in the soccer world.
ESPN Deportes confirmed the rumors last night and stated that Martino would indeed be the Atlanta United manager.

The rumor mill is constantly spinning in world soccer, but there have been confirmation after confirmation without any push back on this story.
While it’s too early to start wondering what type of formation or lineup Martino would deploy in his first match for the club, those discussions might not be too far off if all of these reports are accurate.
We shall sit back and wait every impatiently to see if a deal is finalized.
