Atlanta United’s Kenwyne Jones will be in action this weekend as Trinidad and Tobago take on Guatemala in a match with CONCACAF Hexagonal implications for the Soca Warriors and the US Men’s National Team.
This will be the second opportunity most Atlanta United supporters will have to watch the most recent player to be signed and loaned out by the club. Jones’ first match with Central FC saw the Trinidadian score a near post strike to give T&T the lead against Sporting Kansas City in CONCACAF Champions League play. A second goal was negated by the official. Nevertheless, Jones showed his worth and impressed many anticipating his presence in MLS next year.
Expect Jones to start and cause problems for the Guatemala defense. The USMNT face Trindad and Tobago next Tuesday, September 5 in Jacksonville, Fla.
