Brazilian legend Ronaldinho will be playing in Atlanta on Sunday, October 23 at Silverbacks Park. Kickoff will be at 6:00 p.m. between Ronaldinho’s Friends and the Atlanta Stars. Tickets are $45 and can be bought at Atlanta Silverbacks Park or at Boletos Express.
Estadio, one of Atlanta’s leading Spanish language newspapers, reports that Ronaldinho’s Friends will be made up of former Brazilian professional players and locals. They will take on a collection of the best local players under the name Atlanta Stars.
Julio Cesar de Leon, former Honduran international, will also participate in the match. Nicknamed Rambo, de Leon played 83 times for Honduras and scored 14 goals. He also played with clubs in Honduras, Italy, and China before joining Miami United of the NPSL last season.
According to Estadio, this will be Ronaldinho’s third time playing in Atlanta. His last appearance was with AC Milan at the Georgia Dome in 2009 against Club America. His first appearance locally was with the Brazilian U17 team in a youth tournament held at Roswell Stadium in 1997.
