Atlanta United’s newest celebrity fan is “stylin’ and profilin’”

The Nature Boy is ready for soccer in The A.

Earlier this week, Atlanta United gained itself a cool celebrity fan in Waka Flocka as the rapper had a cool Twitter exchange with the club that included him rocking a jersey. The star power behind the expansion club doesn’t stop there apparently. On Friday, the club received a surprising tweet from the one and only ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair saying he couldn’t wait to give his patented “Woooooo!” after goals.

The world-famous professional wrestler is no stranger to sports in the South. He’s been invited to several of the pro and college teams in the area for pep talks or motivational speeches that usually involve him giving the trademark call. Most notably is his affiliation with the South Carolina Gamecocks football program where they incorporate “2001: A Space Odyssey” as their walk-out song much like Flair did in his long and illustrious career.

Could Flair work with Atlanta United in a similar fashion to provide some sort of pre, mid, or post-game atmosphere wrinkle during games? That would be a very interesting matchday element. For now we’ll just assume he’s a fan.
