MLS Draft 2017: Atlanta United add midfielder and goalkeeper in final rounds

The third and fourth rounds were held on Tuesday.

The third and fourth rounds of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft have come and gone with Atlanta United adding two new players to its roster. With the second pick in the third round, the club selected Harvard midfielder Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu.

He started all 15 matches of his Senior season, recording four points in the process. His bio on the official Harvard athletics website lists him at 5’9”. During his four-year collegiate career, Wheeler-Omiunu scored four goals and added six assists.

With their final pick of the draft, Atlanta United picked up Creighton goalkeeper Alex Kapp. He’s a 6’0” keeper from Westchester, NY.

According to TopDrawerSoccer, Kapp started 18 games in his Senior season and had a save percentage of 81%.

Last Friday in the first stage of the draft, the club added defender Miles Robinson with the second overall pick and midfielder Julian Gressel with the eighth overall pick.
