When we started DSS, one of our main goals was to become the go-to source for Atlanta United news, opinions, etc. on the internet. I won’t say we’re the “go-to” but I’d like to think we’re at least Top 3! But another one of our goals was to build a great community for people to come to for in-depth discussions and fun interaction.
Maybe we haven’t done as well on that front, but we want that to change. We want our match threads to be the place to go if you can’t be at the match or bar when we’re home and the place everyone wants to be when the team is on the road.
To help everyone get acquainted with one another, an introduction is in order. Here’s a little about myself.
My name is Rob. I created Dirty South Soccer a little under two years ago. I’m a freelance writer who mainly works with SB Nation in a variety of roles. I manage DSS and co-manager the network’s U.S. Soccer blog, Stars and Stripes FC. In addition to working with various other sites creating social content. I got into soccer around 2002 around the USMNT’s quarterfinal run at the World Cup. Still to this day that tournament is my favorite soccer memory. Finally having a local club team to support is a dream come true. I can’t wait for the season to finally get started.
Now, let’s hear from you. Head to the comments and tell us a little about yourself.
