Charleston Battery look to expand network with three PDL partnerships

The Battery partner with Myrtle Beach FC, Tormenta FC and the Tri Cities Otters for 2017

The Charleston Battery have partnered with three PDL clubs for 2017, in the hopes to expand even further beyond the affiliation with Atlanta United.

The Battery have announced partnerships with Tormenta FC, Myrtle Beach FC, and the Tri Cities FC Otters, all who play in the South Atlantic division of US Soccer’s fourth tier. The news comes after USL was granted division two status, and the partnership will include an expanded scouting network, with each club set to send two players each to the Battery’s open trials from 1-27 until 1/28, as well as Youth Camps and Merchandise and Ticket Sales.

The Battery reported last week that they had extended their partnership with Atlanta United for 2017. With the announcement this week of a partnership with these fourth division clubs, it signifies a clear path between the lower divisions of US soccer and its highest perch. This is something that the PDL pride themselves on, and could of course be mutually beneficial for all parties involved.

Atlanta United and the Charleston Battery play their first matches next month during the Carolina Challenge Cup.
