News out of Spain on Saturday night suggests it could be close to happening has Espanyol manager Quique Sánchez Flores confirmed that the 36-year-old will be leaving the club on Monday.
While it’s not confirmed that Atlanta is his destination, all signs point to that being a strong possibility.
Demichelis only appeared two times for the La Liga side after joining at the beginning of the 2016-17 season on a one-year contract.
He has been capped 51 times for his native Argentina and has played under Tata Martino several times while the United manager was in charge.
Atlanta United’s policy is not to comment on players under contracts with other teams.
