Enzo Montepaone, agent of Argentine midfielder Lucas Biglia, will travel to the United States to speak with Atlanta United, according to Lazio Press.
Tata Martino familiarized himself with Biglia during his time as Argentina’s national team coach. Biglia started in almost every match at the 2015 Copa America and Copa America Centenario, and was relied heavily on as a holding midfielder.
Reports are also claiming that Chinese Super League clubs are interested in the Lazio captain as well.
Biglia’s contract with the Biancocelesti is set to expire in June of 2018, but negotiations for an extension have been put on hold. A meeting with Atlanta United and Chinese clubs will likely be used as leverage for a new deal at Lazio, but perhaps AUFC could tempt Montepaone and Biglia to seriously consider a move to MLS.
Biglia, 30, has made 91 appearances in three and a half seasons with Lazio.
